MUNICÍPIO DE CURRALINHO

Geografia - fica localizado na microregião de furos do Marajó, tendo limites ao norte com o município de Breves; ao Sul com o rio Pará e a baia das bocas; a leste com o município de São Sebastião da Boa Vista e a oeste com o município de Breves. está a 157 km de Belém em linha reta. clima e vegetação- tropical úmido com chuvas e ventos regulares, apresentando temperatura média anual de 26º a 32º C. e circundada por uma flora diversificada formadas por florestas de áreas inundaveis, de terra firme; secundárias capoeiras e capoeirões e campos naturais. Área de 3.492,18 km2.população aproximadamente de 20.627 habitantes sendo urbana 6.501 e rural 14.126. História- originou-se de uma fazenda particular, que cresceu face ao agrupamento de pessoas ligadas a seus proprietários em decorrencia de interesses comerciais. sua denominação deriva-se do termo Curralzinho usado pelos aventureiros portugueses que, com o uso perdeu a letra 'Z' consagrando-se de forma atual curralinho que seguinifica um terreno cercado com todos os direitos para se fazer algo produtivo. elevou-se a categoria de freguesia em 30 de novembro de 1850, obtendo o titulo de vila quinze anos depois através da Lei 479 de 06 de março de 1865 que também trasferiru a sede da Vila de Oeiras para curralinho. em 23 de dezembro foi instalada a nova sede do municipio com presença de camara de Oeiras, para o quadrienio de 1865 a 1868. no quadro da divisão territorial datados de 31 de dezembro de 1936, o município de Curralinho compreende dois distritos o da sede e o de Piriá assim permanecendo no anexo ao Decreto lei Estadual nº 2972 de 31 de março de 1938.
